Efrain John Gonzalez
Efrain John Gonzalez was born in the Bronx, raised in Long Island, moved to Manhattan in 1975, and settled in Park Slope, Brooklyn in 1979. He still lives in the same apartment. A photographer since High School, in Holy Trinity High, he has studied Photography at the School of Visual arts, and at New York Institute of Technology at Old Westbury, then studied Photoshop software at The New School. He dropped out of College to drive a taxi and to begin his exploration of of all that is wild and wonderful in New york City. Published in the New York Times, Time Out magazine, and in the Village Voice, to name a few. Presently has two photos in the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York. He has published a book on his Tattoo photography "INK & STEEL" and is presently working on a book of night time photography in the old meat market district of New York back in the 80's.
